Yesterday, we were gifted three more chapters of Final Fantasy IV:The After Years after about a months wait. What did we get exactly? We get recurring trips through the Underground Waterway. The first one was pleasant enough though, we got to use the Twin's old spriteset from the original and fought another variant of the OctoMammoth. I actually didn't mind this however, I got trounced the first time trying to take out the tentacles first like our 18 years of practice has taught us, only to find that all the tentacles immediately regenerate. After being slightly baffled, I realized that the designers caught on and made the strategy a whole lot simpler following the KISS standard(Keep it simple, stupid). The next few trips through the waterway is what really got under my skin. This time in Edward's tale, we had to go through with guardsmen to the town of Kaipo, only to have to go back to the Antlion's den. Yeah, you guessed it, we had to then go in the waterway a third time and work our way to the Antlion's Den knowing full well that we would probably have to go for a fourth. Luckily, the designers threw us a bone and gave us a shortcut back on the final run. Really, by now you would think that the people of Kaipo would just keep a surplus of Sand Rubies just incase of the ever common desert fever. Now, if you ask yourself why I chose a map of the moon for the picture above, I'll just say this; The Lunarian's Tale is easily the best out of all of them released thus far. Such a rush of nostalgia, playing it, I practically dropped my jaw by the way it was presented to us. I forgive you Matrix for all the questionable choices made in Edward's tale.
